Hempathy Spa Cloth

Made with 100% hemp, this cloth will not 'sour' and resists mildew. Makes a great gift with your favourite handmade soaps.

With it's distinctive 'nubblies' for sloughing and a smoother side for those more gentle spots, this cloth is a wonderful edition to your scouring regime.

This pattern follows the Coral Knot stitch:

Cast on any number of stitches divisible by two.

Row 1 - 4 Knit
Row 5 - K4 (this will be the border), K1, K2 Tog repeat til 4 stitches remain, K4.
Row 6 - K4,K1, M1 (insert needle into thread spreading from stitch just worked and next stitch and create a stitch). Repeat until you have 4 stitches remaining. K4
Row 7 - Knit row
Row 8 - K4,Purl row,K4

Repeat Row 5 - 8 until you have your desired length.

As the width will shrink during blocking, I advise casting on more stitches then you want long. To achieve a more square shape, do not knit the length as long as the width.

Purchase any hemp twine from an arts and craft or beading store. You will use less than 100m depending on the size.
I used a 40 lb weight, with 4mm needles.
